Diaspora Organizations and Science. Two Worlds, One Mission: A Dialogue on Migration and Conflict

The second INFOCON conference on April 22-23 2010 brought together civil society representatives, researchers and other stakeholders related to diaspora communities. The event was hosted by the Centre for International Development Issues Nijmegen (CIDIN) at the Radboud University Nijmegen. See the summary of the conference.

Deliverables

The INFOCON Project produces a range of publications (so-called “deliverables”) which contain the academic output of the research project. This page permits you to download these reports in PDF format.

Deliverable 1. Case Study Guidelines constitutes the output of the first work package of INFOCON under the lead of the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). Its overall objective is the creation of a common base of knowledge and research methods for a consortium made up of CSO partners and researchers.

Deliverable 2. Case Study Reports constitutes the output of the second work package of INFOCON under the lead of the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). Its overall objective is a descriptive mapping of the transnational communities studied in the project.

Knowledge platform “Here and There”

One of INFOCON’s major goals is to provide strategic tools for Civil Society Organisations. For this purpose, we developed an innovative communication tool: the internet platform Here and There, accessible at www.here-there.org. Here and There allows organizational networking via the exchange of knowledge related to transnational communities.

The transnational community organisations – and also research institutes or governmental actors – are able to use Here and There to present themselves in tailored spaces and exchange information. Here and There makes use of innovative Web 2.0 technological features to foster active participation and frequent visits of the target community. The platform was launched in March 2009 and we continue to improve its content in co-operation with the FP7 project DIASPEACE.

Progress Reports

Progress Reports document the state of the INFOCON project and have to be submitted to the European Commission on a bi-annual basis. The reports in project months 6 and 18 do not contain financial information and are smaller in scope than the reports in months 12 and 24. Below you can download all finished reports.
